Why has a spanner symbol appeared on my e-bike display?

A spanner or wrench symbol on the display is a service notification. This message does not in itself restrict the use of the bike, but it indicates that the bike is due for scheduled maintenance. Helkama sets a service reminder at the factory to appear after 300 km, to remind you of the first service. The service notification can be removed from the bike by taking it to a service shop familiar with Shimano e-bike technology.

By servicing your bike regularly, its use remains safe. Maintenance also helps prevent component failures and extends the lifespan of the bike.

We recommend setting up a new service reminder during each service. The service shop can set the reminder based on the ride distance and/or date. If both are set, the service notification will appear when the first criterion is met.
