Does my e-bike support a mobile application?

Helkama electric bikes use SHIMANO E-BIKE SYSTEMS. Shimano has released two applications that work with its system via Bluetooth. The Bluetooth functionality on e-bikes can be found on the display or the selector switch.

You can connect your smart device to your e-bike under the following conditions. For more information, refer to the external device’s user manual, set the external device to connection mode, and pair the devices:

  • Within 30 seconds of switching on the main power of the electric bike system
  • Within 30 seconds of pressing any button other than the power button while the bike is on

Shimano E-TUBE Ride is an application that collects detailed cycling information, with features including:

  • Display of ride data
  • Plan and save your routes
  • Support for additional devices

Shimano E-TUBE Project Cyclist is an application designed for maintaining the system, with features including:

  • Firmware updates
  • Customization of assistance profiles
  • Maintenance – possible error codes, their causes and solutions
Bluetooth is not available on display modeproductls mounted on the left side of the handlebars where the selector switch is integrated into the display (E5000 and EN500). For other displays or display and selector switch combinations, this functionality is available. For more detailed compatibility information, please refer to our website for your specific bike model.
